Holiday Home Sales

In the Cypress Tx area, we had seen an increase in Home sales in Previous years during the Holiday season. In the Last 4-6 years this increase has leveled off with home buyers moving throughout the year more than waiting for Holidays and Summer. Some of it is with the economy and jobs, Employees are not asking their employers to move around school schedules as they did in the past.  This has made Holidays less busy in the last few years. What is consistent is a slowing of home showings during the November to January months. A thing to consider is to use this slow time to do updates to make your home more attractive.

Make Updates to items brought forth in feedback from agents and buyers who have shown your home.  Also if you have Kitchens, Bathrooms that need updating to current trends, this is a good time to do them. You may find Handymen and Craftsmen to be more competitive in their prices for the Holidays as well. In some price ranges, a decorating allowance is helpful but the higher the home value, the more updates buyers are expecting to see.  I like to say your home is in a Beauty Contest not a Price War.  When you make the Updates, be sure New Photos are added. If you homes was photographed during the Holiday Season, have new ones taken after the Holiday Decorations are removed.  Most Buyers look online to chose which homes to see. Let your home's Beauty Contest attributes get you showings. and don't forget the Landscaping. Plant Colorful Flowers that bring life to your home's curb appeal. Doing updates works during the slower Holiday Seasons as well as all year long.  Get your Home Sold and Have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
