Amazon has entered the Real Estate Market as a new revenue stream for them. They will offer Home Buyers $1,000 to $5,000 in credits for Amazon Purchases depending on the price of home purchased.

It's a Win , Win for Amazon, they can double dip on the deal.

  • Amazon will collect fees from the Real Estate Agents who sign up for the program
  • Amazon will get money back from the $1,000 to $5,000 spent with the Amazon credits.

Initially it looks like a good deal for Home Buying Consumer to get up to $5,000 bucks for allowing Amazon to pick their Real Estate agent for them. They call this "Simplifying the Process".  They claim the agents will be vetted and experienced.
These agents will also be paying Amazon a sizable fee for getting the Amazon referrals. When their pay is discounted, their service and commitment to the home buyer may be discounted as well.

When buying a home, there are lots of factors involved in getting a home at a fair price.  Using a real estate agent who knows the area, schools, tax rates, shopping conveniences, future building & Road expansions, increasing or decreasing home values and many more factors that give the home buyer confidence they are making the best choice possible, is an important choice for the home buyer to make.
I do not feel having the Real Estate Agent choice made for you is a good practice. I would want to know the Real Estate agent I pick will provide me with full service and dedication to me and is not a discounted agent, picked for me by a  For Profit Making Company.
